“Yoga personally symbolizes a journey. I truly have found my journey to be never ending, filled with new understandings, constant renewal and personal transformation. My journey began in 1994 with my first yoga teacher, Mona, who became my mentor in life and still is to this day.”

Candy has taught yoga for fifteen years and has been a Yoga Alliance-certified instructor in teaching training settings since 2004. She has taught at:

  • Heartwork Studio in Northfield, MN;
  • Green Lotus in Lakeville, MN;
  • Sun Moon Studios in Mankato, MN; and
  • Great Clips Corporate Offices in Bloomington, MN (since 2007)

In the styles she teaches, including Hot Yoga an Hatha Yoga, Candy specializes in pranayama, the first pose of yoga. In addition to her leadership roles at these yoga studios, Candy’s journey also has enabled her to bring yoga to the workplace. Trainings with Judith Lasater (Restorative Yoga), Shiva Rea (Asana Flow), Elise Miller and Ganga White and Tracey Rich (Breath Work), and Seane Corn (Vinyasa Flow) have led her to discover her passion, which is helping students to connect with the importance of breath as it leads the body into the flow of the asanas. Her passion lies in teaching pranayama techniques to her students.

Candy has her B.S. in Education and her M.S. in Counseling. She also currently teaches in the Education Department of Normandale Community College in Bloomington. Studying yoga at Sun Moon Studio, Candy became Yoga Alliance certified as an ERYT-200.

In all teaching settings, Candy values the educational journey and the individuality of her students, her goal being student success and personal transformation.
