DESCRIPTION:

Vinyasa Flow may be the most popular form of yoga in our time. This training, for experienced Vinyasa teachers, explores the science behind why this practice makes people feel the way they do; and The Art of designing sequences resulting in specific physiological effects. Dynamic Flow Vinyasa offers infinite potential to create transformative yoga experiences. Participation requires each to share three sequences with the group. Friday/June 21  • 4-7pm (3 hrs.)

Saturday/June 22  • 8:30am-noon (3.5 hrs.); Lunch • 12-1:30pm; 1:30-5pm (3.5 hrs.); Dinner • 5-7pm; 7-9pm (2 hrs.)

Sunday/June 23 • 9am-12pm (4 hrs)

WHAT IS VINYASA?
A Sanskrit term employed in relation to certain styles of yoga. Five basic definitions will be covered.
1. Linking body movement with breath.
2. Specific sequences of breath synchronized movement, transitions.
3. Setting intention for personal practice and moving towards it.
4. Sequential linking of postures to form a continuous flow.
5. Movement meditation that reveals all forms as impermanent.
DYNAMIC: (Physics) Of, or relating to energy, or to objects in motion; characterized by continuous change, activity, progress; marked by intensity and vigor, or relating to variation in intensity.
FLOW: To move smoothly with unbroken continuity; to circulate, as blood in the body; to proceed steadily, easily; exhibit smooth, graceful continuity; to rise (used of ocean tide).

MEET OUR PRESENTER

Mona developed her career pioneering yoga in Southeastern Minnesota. For ten years she traveled to small towns to teach and 19 years as a studio owner. Through her 15-years as director of the Sun Moon Yoga teacher training program, She has trained hundreds of yoga teachers in the state and beyond.

Drawing on her background in fitness, as well as her long-time personal practice in yoga, Mona reminds us that everything is connected so we must live, act, dance, breathe with awareness.

Her credentials include a Master’s in health Science, 500-Hour RYT, and three 200-Hour RYT training programs, among many others.
